Contemporary

Contemporary is a fusion of ballet, jazz, and modern dance, and often incorporates the use of story telling through performance.  Students will explore their freedom of expression, interpretation of music, principles of fall and recovery, control, breathing, balance and contraction/release.
The ISTD Contemporary syllabus aims to introduce students to the fundamentals and vocabulary of contemporary technique and allows them the opportunity to explore different approaches to creating movement material through improvisation.
