Trinity National Diploma in Dance Theatre (First Aid & Mental Health First Aid Trained)
Lucie began dancing at the age of 3, at Junior Performers which was then known as Susan Stephens’ Theatre School. During her time there, she completed all of her major ISTD examinations, and appeared in the official syllabus demonstration for Grade 6 Tap. At 18 she gained a scholarship at Performers College, achieving a National Diploma in Dance Theatre, and studying for her ISTD teaching exams.
Upon graduating, she performed as a dancer and vocalist in various cabarets, and as a magicians assistant as a guest act for P&O cruise ships. She then found her way into teaching, and discovered a love for it.
Since the beginning of her teaching career, she has developed a passion for the safe and effective teaching of flexibility in dancers, and has completed several modules with Alixa Flexibility, hoping to further this training towards the end of the year. Over her time teaching, she found herself drawn to acro and gymnastics, and was fascinated by the scientific principles of how it works. Over the years, she has been mentored by established coaches within the British Gymnastics Association, as well as acro coaches with an extensive background in circus, contortion, and tumbling. She is aiming to complete training with Acrobatic Arts, to continue to further this knowledge.
Lucie is so excited to be back ‘home’ at Performers College Juniors, and thoroughly enjoys working with so many talented and promising students.
